Introduction - photo when it is fun.

PER VOLLEDAL - a restless independent, a freelancer in the strange world of photography. This page is the latest effort in a more than 20 year long love affair with black and white photography.

An obsession with monochrome printing has led to prints in standard gelatin, bromoil, oil, cyanotype, and - hopefully soon - gum bichromate.

To me, the finished print is what matters. The equipment and technical tools of the trade are of less importance. Type of camera, film, development or the printing process will always only be a means to an end - the finished print.

Camera eqipment range from different pinhole cameras, and lens cameras from sub-miniature up to 4x5 view cameras.

An interesting alternative in medium format is the TLR. Very good images are made with Yashica cameras. The Yashicamat 124 is usually easily available, it is sturdy, not expensive and of excellent optical quality. If money is no objection, get a Rolleiflex.
