KONKURRANSE-BLANKETTER FASE 1

 

Bestemmelser om innlevering av forretningsidèer

Ved innlevering av en forretningsidè i Venture Cup 2000 gjelder følgende bestemmelser om eierskap og rettigheter knyttet til forretningsidèen;

  • Forretningsidèen stammer fra undertegnede lagmedlemmer, og eventuelle rettigheter tilkommer en eller flere av de undertegnede lagmedlemmer. Om idèen og/eller en eller flere lagmedlemmer med opprinnelig rettighet helt eller delvis avstår fra videre engasjement, eller om utenforstående tilkommer, må rettighetshaverne angis og eierforholdet omkring aktuelle rettigheter (f.eks. patentinnehavere, varemerker etc) angis eksplisitt.
  • Hvert lagmedlem har lest konkurransebestemmelsene og samtykker med sin underskrift at laget er berettiget til å delta i VentureCup 2000 under gjeldende konkurranseregler. Videre samtykker lagmedlemmene i at konkurranseledelsen kan endre regelverket uten å rådføre seg med deltakerne.
  • Undertegnede lagmedlemmer er inneforstått med at veiledere og arbeidsgruppene for VentureCup 2000 arbeider på ideel basis, og dermed ikke er formelt forpliktet til å bistå deltakerne med fagmessig eller organisatorisk assistanse. Veiledere og jurymedlemmer opptrer selvstendig og ikke på vegne av arrangørene av Venture Cup 2000.
  • Undertegnede lagmedlemmer er inneforstått med at veiledere som formidles av Venture Cup 2000, hvert oppnevnt jurymedlem, samt hvert medlem av konkurranseledelsen har undertegnet en konfidensialitetsavtale. Konfidensialitetsavtalen er begrenset til informasjon som veiledere, jurymedlemmer og konkurranseledelsen får tilgang til under konkurranseperioden (28. februar til 15.desember år 2000). Education: My profession is the entrepreneurial aspects of individual & cultural life-extension. I am a self-taught entrepreneur & consultant. Here is a list of ventures I have founded and built:

2000: Trygve's Meta Portal ™ ©. I am the designer, owner, computer programmer and jack of all trades when it comes to this portal.

1996-Present: Aksjon 88. I started a lobbying group that successfully lobbied to have Hovseterveien 88, a public housing project rehabilitated.

1995-Present: Health retreats. I have been organizing one and two day health building sessions.

1995-Present: Norsk Isbade Klubb. I founded it & own and operate it.

1994-95 Floating villages. I wrote a project description, posted it to Internet, called at least 20 Norwegian shipping owners, brokers, managers & designers, met with 3 & tried to talk the industry into building privatized cruiseships, a kind of floating villages, where each suite is sold separately. Spoke briefly with Kloster senior about it on the phone, when his son was with him. The latter & others of those I spoke to picked up on the idea a few years latter and have been implementing it on their own as Residensea, without my further involvement.

1993-Present: The Rocky Mountain cryonic facility in Nederland Colorado. I started this facility and have one person operating it for me.

1992-94: Construction of terrain integrated residence. I designed & built a fire, storm & earthquake proof residence in Nederland Colorado. I designed it & served as the entrepreneur & general contractor.

1989-1990 Cryonic suspensions. I organized two cryonic suspensions.

1983-94 The Boulder Polar Bear Club. I founded the Boulder Polar Bear Club in 1983 and built it over the next 11 years to a large club with 250 annual annual iceswimmers. I built the New Year's Day dip in Boulder Colorado to what it is today: a huge Winter carnival.

1983-84 Teacher in computer use. I started Boulder portable computer club & taught lots of computer classes.

1975 Masfjordskjell. I started harvesting, canning & selling fresh and canned blue mussels 25 years before everyone and their brother.

1973-74 Fredagstreffen at Risenga. I founded and ran Fredagstreffen a weekly activity clubb with a few hundred participants at Risenga 6-9th grade school in Asker. It was a forerunner for what today is called "skole fritids ordningen".

Other business involvement:

1998-Present. I am presently on the board of scientific advisors to the Society for Experimental Gerontological Research.

1990-91: I was for one year on the board of directors of Trans Time, the 3rd largest US cryonics company.

Venture description:

Introduction.
My name is Trygve Bauge, I have selected to submit my entry in English, since my product Trygve's Meta Portal™ © is in English, & my market is the world.

What Trygve's Meta Portal™ © will cover. Individual & cultural life-extension is my profession. I wrote Trygve's Meta Portal™ © as a tool to better present, gather support for & implement my most life-extending ventures. It will contain my progress plan, my selected ventures, venture plans for each of these & a venture plan model that I & others easily can use as a boiler plate to write & present venture plans for most any venture. It will also contain any other useful & playful information that I have gathered like lists of portals, search engines, refference sources, media outlets, programming manuals, & other background research etc.

What Trygve's Meta Portal™ © is good at. Trygve's Meta Portal™ © is first and foremost a computer program that makes it easy for me to sort out and present and for me and others to access and use large amounts of information. At the same time it enables sponsor logos to stay visible on the screen. It is also a program that makes it easy to set up a venture plan model or boiler plate (mal), and apply this to write venture plans for any venture.

Income by offering value to sponsors and advertisors. Trygve's Meta Portal™ © is designed to be attractive to sponsors: I have created a oneline top menu & a narrow left side menu that will stay in view while the content of the large right hand presentation window changes.The menus stay in view not just while my own material is presented, but also while links to other sites are displayed. I have space for ten banners visible at all times at the top of the left hand menu. By having several menu bars that refresh in a cycle, I can easily display 30 or 40 banners in a continuous cycle. At the same time I can insert additional banners further down on the long scrollable left hand meny bars.- My experience with reading electronic newspapers is that one reads the articles one is interested in, but does not see the banners at the side of these. The advantage by inserting banners in otherwise useful menu bars is that these banners will be in the line of sight when people glance down the menubar in search of other desired links.- I will set up one main left hand menu bar, where one can left click to open other menu bars by topic. These will then open in the left hand window as well. People opening the menu bar listing search engines, will when they scroll down the latter in search of the desired search engine, not be able to avoid the sponsor banners that I have inserted in the list of search engines. Sponsors will furthermore get a chance to add their banners on the right hand side of such display files that I generate myself. I will also have a sponsor list & classified section that one can click on to open.

Progress plan. Product & venture implementation steps. Marketing. I have set aside the next year to work full time upgrading my portal & adding useful content to it. I use meta tags in all my files so that these will be found by search engines, and 3 main search engines already know my portal. In the fall I expect to have added so much valuable content and so many valuable links that I can use my list of 400 Norwegian and foreign media contacts, to drum up media coverage for Trygve's Meta Portal. I am in the media on average about 40 times a year regarding icebathing, cryonics, health courses, terrain integrated houses, political lobbying etc., and once Trygve's Meta Portal™ © is up and running I can easily use most of the media opportunities to refer the journalists or listeners to information found at or through Trygve's Meta Portal™ ©. I will then also post teasers to relevant news groups, and spread my business card and signature line all over the place e.g. to everyone at selected universities, schools & on the subway.- Once we get nearer the next icebathing season and it is time to recruit sponsors for my icebathing events, I will offer sponsors in Colorado and in Oslo a package deal: If they sponsor any of my polar bear clubs then I will be glad to display their signs at our events,and their banners in Trygve's Meta Portal™ ©.- I founded Boulder Polar Bear Club back in 1983, and built it up to 250 annual icebathers and 28 sponsors including several fortune 500 companies by 1994, when my assistant took over the daily operation. The club's main event is the annual New Year's Day dip in Boulder reservoir, that last January the 1st attracted close to 400 iceswimmers.The biggest sponsor pays $1000 a year.

One year financial goal, & how realistic this is. My 1 year goal is to attract 10 big sponsors that pay on average $490 each, 21 small sponsors that pay on average $50 each & sell 105 classified ads at $10 each. All will get one year listing at Trygve's Meta Portal™ ©. These rates are quite favourable compared to what sponsors & advertisers pay elsewhere for the same exposure. I already have lots of experience in recruiting sponsors for my polar bear clubs. It usually takes 2 days of calling to line up 28 sponsors to my icebathing club, & I don't think I will have any problems meeting my modest 1 year goal of $7000 in advertisement revenu. It is just a question of taking the time to call around.I already have the name recognition & the goodwill in both Norway & Colorado.-I have already started posting requests among other Venture Cup participants for business partners willing to sell advertisement space on commission or willing to be the editors of specific pages.

Cost of developing Trygve's Meta portal™ ©. I already have a computer, and a phone budget to use on my internet connection and I pay only about $100 a year for my internet account. Once I start recruiting sponsors for Trygve's Meta Portal™ ©, it will cost me about $400 to upgrade my account to a web motel and buy a web address for my portal. The only real expense is thus my time. But I already have the funding to spend one year developing Trygve's Meta Portal™ © on full time.

Larger income potential. As soon as I meet my target of $7000 in revenue the next step would be to make the portal pay a decent income. 110,000 visitors a year is about 300 a day. I already have 20 hits a day, with almost no advertising, and just a beta version of the portal up and running. I don't think I will have any problem attracting 100.000 visitors to my portal a year, and once I have done that it should be easy to ask more money from bigger sponsors and advertisors. According to a recent article in Aftenposten about $8 million dollars was spent last year on advertising on internet here in Norway. My one year goal of $7000 is less than 1 thousandth of the existing market. A market that seems to be growing drastically.

The competition, the industry & Trygve's Meta Portal’s™ © place in this. I have searched for the 20 main portals in Norway, & listed links to these from my portal, so that I easier can study & beat the competition & make Trygve's Meta Portal™ © become 1 of the top 20 general portals in Norway & at the same time the best portal in the world in a few selected segments. Portals usually cover links to search engines, newspapers etc, but not so many links to the competition: other portals. My portal cover many links to other portals too.

Why Trygve's Meta Portal™ © is better than the competiton. Last time I checked Trygve's Meta Portal™ © had better coverage of search engines & news papers than all the 20 main Norwegian portals that I compete with. Too bad the internet audience doesn't know. However, they will know as soon as I start the marketing in the fall. I aim at offering the best available list of links on those topics I offer list of links on.

Investment opportunity. At least 1 of the other 20 most popular portals in Norway today started out as a home page just like my portal has. The other large portals seem to have been set up by large companies. Maybe a few large companies would like to invest in my portal? This Venture Cup competition is one way to find out.

User friendly for customers. According to one recent study main portals open in on average 38 seconds, Trygve's Meta Portal™ © opens in 26 seconds under the same conditions. I also have an advantage in my layout, that enables my menus and ads to stay on the left hand of the screen while all local contents and all outgoing links display to the right.

Who the customers are. As the recent newspaper strike has shown: the trend is clearly towards electronic advertising. A portal is a tool to easier find and use what is available on the net and in world wide web. Everyone is or will be using portals, and the best portals, will get the most hits, it is impossible to be best in everything, but it is easy to become the best in a few segments that one already is qualified to master, and that is what I aim at. If one is the best in a few areas, this will attract visitors. - Aside from taking a still larger piece of the general market for portals, I aim at focusing on longevity and life-extension and targeting the following subsegments that I have indepth knowledge on:

Topics I will make Trygve's Meta Portal™ © the best resource on: Life-extension as a motivation, will, goal, philosophy, moral system, legal system, profession, venture combination and way of life; yoga, health building and rejuvenation; icebathing (Internationally a larger sport than cross country speed skiing! and I have the world record, and two large clubs as well as one of only two existing lists that keep track of icebathing clubs world wide.); cloning; uploading of mental content to a clone; cryonics, (fewer practitioners but gets as much media coverage as icebathing); Objectivism, libertarianism, charter writing, free ports and free travel and trade zones; livable affordable survival of total nuclear war and lesser dangers, civil defence, blast shelters and terrain integrated houses; self-improving, entrepreneurship, venture plan writing and venture implementation. By focusing on life-extension and related topics that I know very well, I have a good shot at being the best portal in these segments of the market as I have already become the best in icebathing. And world wide these segments are huge or have a huge potential, in as much as most people are interested in their own health, liberty, safety and longevity, and might be inclined to go for (search for, visit and revisit) portals and pages that are in the top ten on such topics.

In conlusion, large potential for profitable spinnoffs. Trygve's Meta Portal™ © is not a hobby, it is a vehicle for my professional growth. And though good portals has a large income potensial from advertisement revenue my largest potensial is in the specialty portals and life-extending ventures I can use my meta portal to implement: Trygve's Meta Portal™ © is a tool to focus, shelter and set free our most life-extending efforts and in particular a vehicle to implement a chain of partially nuclear war proof life-extension research and treatment centers in freeports around the world.
