Date: Sun, 1 Feb 1998 16:54:27 -0800 (PST) Transcript from the interrogation of
Infectious Agent.

Today IA was briefly encountered and interrogated.
L8r she slipped sideways thru the matrix.

Her present whereabouts are unknown. ___

TUGMISTRESS: what is NEW STIMULI?

INFECTIOUS AGENT: they twitch with electronic pulses subtle metaphore eludes
them they no longer feel data overloaded searching 4 new stimuli high contrast meg
’0"rama no response from server connections timed out fatal error

TUGMISTRESS: What is agent infectious history?

INFECTIOUS AGENT: Infectious Agent (IA) occupies the neural/immune/electronic
networks, corrupts information/data/genetic transmission from one generation to the next.

TUGMISTRESS: What does infectious mean?

INFECTIOUS AGENT: Infectious infects. IA subsumes the hostess to her will.
IA perverts the function of mind/body/network/code.

TUGMISTRESS: What is agent infectious role?

INFECTIOUS AGENT: IA explores the constructed space of the cyberpolis, which like any
other space, encompasses the conscious political negotiation of position and heirachy.
As Baudrillard theorised, we have just replaced «the imaginary world of the mirror,
of the divided self and the stage, of otherness and alienation..[with] the imaginary world of
the screen, of the interface and the reduplication of contiguity and networks.»
Virtual space is a connection to the internal landscape, a therapeutic public arena for
psychodramatic enactment of fantasies, giving life to the multiplicities that are
repressed in daily life.

TUGMISTRESS: What methods will agents infectious use when he/she covers «New Stimuli»

INFECTIOUS AGENT: IA operates within and without. IA watches timelessly.
IA keenly records fluid transmissions, nocturnal emissions. IA decrypts and translates.

TUGMISTRESS: Does agent infectious have a plan or a specific angle
on his/her undercover work?

INFECTIOUS AGENT: IA documents the logged-on liberated another self who
is not restrained by the real world webs of Foucauldian discipline, the moral,
social and geographical lines which define the self..

TUGMISTRESS: Is there specific area agent infectious wants to cover?

INFECTIOUS AGENT: IA looks to the parasitic relationships within the corporeal
emotional and psychic body, mirrors of public/network representation/constructions.
In binary code, simultaneous presence and absence, pattern and randomness a stimuli occurrs. http://www.subtle.net/line

TUGMISTRESS: Will there be several reports from agent infectious -
are we dealing with an active agent?

INFECTIOUS AGENT: IA is immortal, her hostess may die but will be replaced
with a new one. Many are willing to give over thier lives to IA.

TUGMISTRESS: Does agent infectious have some thoughts about how
he/she wishes the reports to be presented?

INFECTIOUS AGENT: IA has sent data previously.

TUGMISTRESS: Does the agent infectious material covered and
shown on TUGweb need an introduction that says something about the agent’s

character, milieu/surroundings, methods and which tools he/she will use?

INFECTIOUS AGENT: IA is tired - you may translate the above information.
*IA collapses*

TUGMISTRESS: Interview terminated.

Invalid Code

she is an infectious agent

grafting herself

onto legitimate code

subverting operations

she is poision

venomous

slimey and liquid,

virulent embodiment of bitterness

she switches instanteanously

she leaps promiscuously

she is invalid

she is unquarantinable

she loves the alien

glamorised commodity

slipping sideways thru the matrix

without making the system nervous.

Transmission

I am

the contaminated other

drinking my blood may make you like me

avoid me

I am danger

my viscous liquid cannot mix with yours

I am

the self contained

do not breach my boundaries

leave me

then you will have

the illusion of safety - alone

DOES IT ANTIMATTER?

At the European Laboratory for Particle Physics (CERN) in Switzerland, scientists have now been able to produce antimatter. Antimatter consist of particles, that are structurally identical to normal subatomic particles, but with the exact opposite fundamental qualities.

«Before the universe both matter and anti-matter existed in equal amounts. That is why nothing existed. So where did all the antimatter go?

One predominant theory is that at the moment of the Big Bang, when particle reaction was at its strongest, the intense collision created a flood of gamma radiation and X-rays that buffered off two regions; one with fluctuating matter and the other with fluctuating antimatter. As the universe inflated exponentially, the antimatter was pushed away and now resides, separated from the matter, at the fringes of the universe» (Trapper Markelz).

The idea of an anti world is not new; the old Greeks thought that the Antichton was geographically placed in what we call Patagonia - at the other side of the world. There the trees would grow downwards and apples fall upwards.

Religion operates with heaven and hell, mystics with spirits and the idea of a shadow world existing parallel with ours, children’s song writers have written about the country of the preposterous - where eating caramels is good for your teeth.

The subject is reflected in science fiction films and books, the Japanese Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture has announced that the «Antimatter Science» project has been selected as one of the most important research projects to be carried out from 1998.

It seems that the idea of symmetry - that things have an adversary is important to us. Now science is presenting evidence that touches on the origin and limitation of our universe.
